Stories from Christians with special needs, their families, and those serving in the special needs community; sharing their faith and how they have grown in their identity in light of their experience of special needs.

Description

In Call Me By Name: Stories of Faith, Identity, and Special Needs, the editors have gathered stories from Christians with special needs, their families, and those serving in the special needs community. Special care has been taken to include a wide range of individuals in order to share how they have experienced their faith and grown in their identity in light of their experience of special needs. “These stories”, write the editors, “are teeming with life and are filled with possibilities of a new encounter with God.” At the same time, “this book is also an invitation to the reader to do what each contributor has done—call upon God’s name—and in this way, experience the profound goodness of God’s love.”

“If you want to enter the world of someone with special needs, understand their journey, be deeply inspired and encouraged, and most of all, to know the love and hand of God, this book is for you!” — Anita Fam, Chairperson, Assisi Hospice

"This book is a truly inspirational read. Each story is warmly told and opens up a brave new world with which many of us are unfamiliar. It will surely encourage us to know the truth of Isaiah 58:10, that “if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.” I want to commend and affirm the dedication and commitment of the Family Inclusion Network in bringing these stories to light. Call Me By Name is more than a worthy cause, it is a most generous act of service and love.” — Mr Eugene Seow, Chief Executive Officer, TOUCH International

"The theme of 'Love Thy Neighbour' resonates through each story. God brought different people into the lives of each storyteller, to help lift them up when they were at the lowest points of their journeys. Love from one's neighbours can be so powerful that it lifts us out of our darkest moments to see God's light at the end of the tunnel. Wonderful read!" — Mr Tim Oei, Chief Executive Officer, The National Kidney Foundation
